From the Antipodean Pie Files The possum is hunted, trapped, shot and poisoned by farmers and the Department of Conservation here. The nasty lil critters eat the eggs of our endangered native birds, and chew on the tiny seedlings of native trees too. While eating them is not going to make a big difference, it sure makes for an interesting pie though. Feel free to do a Possum Pie Story Keep up the good pie work. Regards from New Zealand.
I remember when they tried to market possum carcasses to China as "fruit eating tree bears." The Chinese didn't want to know about little bastards either. Regards also from New Zealand
If Scaryduck had posted this I would have suspected him of having gone to the farmer's market in Bridport. There is a very good pie man there too, but Scary, if you do go, beware. My mother will be there, a couple of stands further down, belittling Fearnley-Whittingstall's tomatoes.
6 Crumbs:

They should start a speciality publication: Readers' Wives Elbows. The red hot pie action is just a bonus.
It's the elbows, innit? They stir the deepest, darkest passion in a man.
More elbow pics!
